Cash Shop and Cosmetics

0:00 Cosmetics in Aion 2 cover outfits (costumes), weapon skins, pets and wings, and they come from two places: gameplay, which supplies most outfits, and the shop, where NC sells premium skins and consumables for Quna or money. NC's presentation of the Korean and Taiwanese business model in September 2025 named Costumes, Weapon Skins, Pets and Wings as its cosmetic items, and its global notice of July 2026 describes shop cosmetics as purely aesthetic. The global shop opened with Advanced Access on Sep 30, 2026, selling five outfit sets, class weapon skins, pets and wings until the maintenance of Oct 28, and has been open to every player since the free launch of Oct 5. Anders's showcase of August 2026 runs through the outfits that can be obtained simply by playing, with the warning that the rarer ones are harder to get.

Earned outfits and the closet

Most outfits are not bought. NC's Director of Operations Daniel LaFuente told Hardcore Gamer at Summer Game Fest 2026 that the vast majority of outfits are collected by playing, unlocking in the player's closet when they are found or awarded, in styles ranging from cute to fantasy and dark (Hardcore Gamer, Jun 16, 2026).

23:23 The free outfits span every grade up to Heroic, which Anders's showcase reaches near its end.

25:47 More outfits arrive with each new map, so Korea, a region ahead of the global launch, has some that global players will not see at first, and Anders stresses that collecting free outfits matters for progression, not only for looks.

18:12 Society Of Gaming ranks the transmog system among the best in any MMORPG. Players pick from hundreds of gear pieces and can change each one's material, pattern and color, and he says the best outfits come from dungeons and play rather than the shop, whose outfits he does not think are worth buying.

3:51 The two sources also differ inside the closet. According to Anders, premium shop skins have no effects of their own and do not count towards the closet's collection bonuses (Character Creation). NC's notice for the global launch skins says the same: obtaining them earns no Collection Points.

NC made pet ownership and Genus Insight shared across all characters on a server on Jan 7, 2026 (NC, Jan 7, 2026); Aion2 Hub's patch translations record a server-wide wardrobe arriving with Season 2 on Jan 21, 2026; and from June 2026 Special-grade costumes and pets became shareable across the whole server (NC, Jun 17, 2026).

What the shop sells

NC's global notice of Jul 8, 2026, as reported by the fan site Aion2 Hub, splits the in-game shop in two: cosmetics (outfits, wings, pets, weapon skins and accessories), which it calls purely aesthetic with no gameplay or combat advantage, and consumables such as potions and resurrection stones, which it says do not affect gear progression or long-term power and can also be earned in play.

9:10 In Korea, Anders reported in July 2026, shop cosmetics are sold for Quna or real money and are purely cosmetic, and the shop also sells extra character slots, Resurrection Spiritstones and storage expansion slots. Every account has four character slots free, and the Brawler's release in Korea came with a free extra slot for all players (Brawler).

8:20 Consumables have drawn criticism. KaidGames2, reviewing the Korean and Taiwanese launch after 50 hours in November 2025, singled out an HP potion sold in the shop as a paid survival advantage in PvP (PvP; Controversies).

With Chapter 1 on Jul 1, 2026 NC added four optional support packages for new and returning players in Korea and Taiwan, activated by tokens bought from the shop: Exciting First Step, which provides equipment and completes Strongholds, Sealed Dungeons and Empyrean Trace at once; Taking Flight, which takes a character to around 300,000 combat power; New World Explorer, with growth materials and cosmetic boxes; and Slow But Steady, which pays currencies through repeatable missions (NC, Jul 6, 2026; Chapter 1).

0:14 Some conveniences are sold for Kina instead. Pet auto-loot, which NC confirmed for the global version on its livestream of Aug 7, 2026, costs Kina for 30 days at a time; Anders put the Korean price at around 3 million Kina, two to three dungeon runs for a subscriber.

The global launch shop

8:58 The line-up was visible before launch. After the first day of the Launch Scale Test, Anders reported that the test client already showed which premium outfits would be sold at launch, with no sign that their designs had been censored for the West.

NC's skin notice of Sep 30, 2026 put five outfit sets on sale from the start of Advanced Access until the maintenance of Oct 28 (NC, Sep 30, 2026). Prices are based on the PURPLE store and may differ elsewhere; mein-mmo found some sets at €25.49 in the in-game shop.

0:00 Three sets cost US$29.99 each and earn 4,350 Mileage: Dreamy Day Uniform, Loose-Fit Streetwear and Snowy Sheer. They arrive in the shop storage of the buyer's server and can be used only on that server, and each design changes with the gender of the character wearing it. NC's 22-second Lookbook film for the Dreamy Day Uniform, a school-uniform look, shows it on a male and a female character.

The other two sets, Genesis Daeva and Shadowlight Wind, cost 2,200 Quna each and go straight to the buying character's closet; other characters cannot wear them. All five can be customized in the closet.

0:00 NC promoted the three sets sold for money with a Daeva Lookbook page and a Lookbook film for each, short vertical videos in the format of YouTube Shorts. The 29-second Snowy Sheer film shows that set's long, sheer white cloak on a male Daeva.

Weapon skins come in two chests at US$11.99 each, Mystic Light and Precious, with one skin per class weapon, and each can be bought only by the class that uses that weapon: the Greatsword for the Gladiator, Longsword for the Templar, Dagger for the Assassin, Bow for the Ranger, Spellbook for the Sorcerer, Orb for the Spiritmaster, Mace for the Cleric and Staff for the Chanter. The Precious line turns weapons into everyday objects, such as Liron's Precious Leek for the Greatsword and Hdar's Precious Instrument for the Bow. The notice's class restriction also settled the global class names, Ranger and Spiritmaster, that earlier translations had rendered differently (Classes).

Two pets, Chonky Hamster and White Bunny, cost US$19.99 each, once per server from level 10; two wing skins, Punk Bunny Bag Wings and Void Rending Wings, cost US$19.99 each, once per character. A Black Mask helm and four decor pieces (Predator Mask, Tardy Toast, Mysteriously Cool Glasses and Flowery Young Elim) cost 300 Quna each, and eight emotes are on permanent sale at 300 Quna. The Aion 2 Starter bundle at US$19.99 adds a Street Bubble Gum facewear skin to its consumables (Business Model).

The global battle pass has a shop of its own: its premium track pays Daeva Pass Shop Coins that buy Cozy Forest Shugo weapon skins for all eight weapon types, Shugo-themed armor pieces and the pet Swift Lugi until Dec 15, 2026 (Daeva Pass).

Some launch cosmetics are free. Watching participating Twitch streams earns Cyber Glasses and a White Headset during Advanced Access (Sep 30 to Oct 4) and a Head Bow and an Adorable Young Elim shoulder piece from Oct 5 to 16 (Steam, Sep 30, 2026). Every account that logs in before the maintenance of Dec 1, 2026 receives a pet chest with the pet Pagati and one of Papis, Silver Blade Rotan, Konutin Worker or Black Smoke Murute, and NC compensated the long queues of Sep 30 with an Appearance Change Voucher for everyone (Pets and Mounts).

Since the global launch

The first skins are on a clock. NC's notice sells the five launch outfit sets, the weapon skin chests, the two pets and the two wing skins until the maintenance of Oct 28, 2026 (the night of Oct 27 in Pacific time), and its producer's letter of Oct 10 promised "our first seasonal celebrations" without a date. The first of them arrived with the patch of Oct 13 (PDT): a Halloween lineup sold beside the launch skins rather than in their place. The launch lineup's end date came with the maintenance of Oct 27 (PDT), Oct 28 in Europe; NC's notice of that maintenance gave no update details in advance and did not announce an extension or a replacement lineup, while the Halloween skins stay on sale to Nov 24. No extension came: the morning after, NC's skin notice of Oct 28 put a new lineup on sale instead.

Three changes since the free launch of Oct 5 affect what players already own. On launch day NC sent every player a Customization Voucher (Bound), writing that many were eager to adjust their looks and pointing them to ESC and then Closet (Character Creation). The first weekly patch, on the night of Oct 6 (PDT), opened a free shop for Founder's Pack buyers, in which each character on each server can pick up the skins and titles of the buyer's pack tier that it does not own yet; NC says that shop stays until it announces a closure, and that duplicates taken there do not count against the purchase limit of paid skins.

Server transfers, from Oct 14, 2026, carry cosmetics along. According to NC's notices of Oct 9, every skin in the closet and every pet moves with the transferring characters and is added to what the account owns on the destination server, and is removed from the old server, so characters left behind can no longer wear them. Where the same special pet already exists on the destination, the player keeps one and receives a Pet Reward Ticket, which Customer Support exchanges for a refund; a duplicated decorative skin that cannot be customized yields a Skin (Single) Reward Ticket that buys a "300 Quna" item in the shop, and duplicates from the Pass Shop are refunded in Pass Coins. Both tickets expire at the maintenance of Nov 24, 2026 (PST). The transfer itself is a shop item under Server Transfer, priced at 0 Quna, with 1,000 Quna for each extra character slot needed on the destination (Servers).

The Halloween lineup is on sale from Oct 14, 2026 until the maintenance of Nov 24 (PST; Nov 25 in Europe), according to NC's patch notes of that day, with prices again based on the PURPLE store. Three outfit sets, Monarch of Blood (with a cloak), Midnight Witch and Midnight Slasher, cost US$29.99 each and earn 4,350 Mileage; Halloween Night weapon skins cost US$11.99 each, one for each class weapon and sold only to that class, as at launch; two pets, Pumpkin Carriage and Little Ghost, cost US$19.99 each, once per server; Spider Wings cost US$19.99, once per character; and four helms (Dapper-O'-Lantern, Jack-O'-Lantern, Face Bandages and Frankenstein Bolts) and eleven eyewear and facewear pieces, from Tears of Blood and Black Cat Facepaint to Dracula Fangs and Slasher's Muzzle, cost 300 Quna each. NC's Daeva Lookbook page shows the new sets. Players who would rather not pay can earn one Halloween look: the Special Halloween Chest of the free Halloween event, bought with 250 event coins, holds a Spooky Scary Skeleton breastplate skin (Updates and Seasons).

The lineup of Oct 28, 2026 is on sale from that day's maintenance to the maintenance of Nov 10 (PST; Nov 11 in Europe), at PURPLE store prices again. Two outfit sets cost US$29.99 each and earn 4,350 Mileage: Vulpine Sunshower, six pieces with a helm and a cloak, and No-Nonsense Maid (Bound), four pieces. The Secret Teatime weapon skins cost US$11.99 each and earn 1,750 Mileage, one per class weapon and sold only to that class. None of them can be traded, deleted or stored, all can be customized, they need a character of level 2 or higher and stay on the buyer's server, and like the launch skins the sets earn no Collection Points (NC).

Halloween brought free looks too. NC's Global Halloween Twitch Drops, for watching participating Aion 2 streams from 10:00 PDT on Oct 28 to 23:59 PST on Nov 3, 2026 (Oct 28, 18:00 to Nov 4, 08:59 CET), pay 15 Resurrection Spiritstones at 1 hour, an Appearance Change Voucher at 2, three Customization Vouchers at 4, four Odyle Energy at 6 and the Chubby Panda helm at 8, all bound; the drops must be claimed in game before Nov 17 at 23:59 PST (NC).

The next free cosmetics come with Ludra's return. NC's notice of Oct 23, 2026 (updated Oct 30) sets out a Ludra event from Nov 4 at 06:00 to Nov 17 at 23:59 PST (Nov 4, 15:00 to Nov 18, 8:59 CET) with three kinds of looks for no money. The Ludra Conquest Check-In gives seven rewards over the fourteen days, so up to seven days can be missed, and the seventh is the Lush Leaf Tiara helm. Twitch Drops for watching Aion 2 streams in the same window add, by hours watched, three Skin Chests (10 Times) at 2 hours, three Mysterious Pet Chests at 3, three Customization Vouchers at 5, an Appearance Change Voucher at 7, the Dotted Glasses at 12 and the Black Conical Hat helm at 14, with bound gear and consumables in between. And the Ludra Outfit Contest on Discord, for one in-game screenshot of an outfit and dyes that represents Ludra (no editing or AI), pays 6,000, 3,000 and 1,000 Quna to the top three, 3,000 Quna for the community's choice and two Dye Tokens to every participant, in Europe and the three American regions. The raid itself is on Ludra Raid Guide.

Some purchases went missing in the first week. NC said on Oct 15, 2026 (UTC) that between Oct 6 and Oct 12 some Steam payments had not been processed correctly: items paid for were not delivered, or a failed payment still used up an item's purchase limit. It finished delivering the missing items and restoring the limits on Oct 14.

Pets, mounts and wings

Pets double as mounts, and NC said in June 2026 that more than 200 would be available at launch, with unique animations for running and standing (Hardcore Gamer, Jun 16, 2026; Pets and Mounts). Players can also customize their wings, which NC lists among the game's key features.

7:03 The rule on stats is the same for wings as for pets. Showing the Blazing Sun Wings in the Taiwanese client, Society Of Gaming explains that wings bought with real money carry no stats while wings farmed in the game do, and that most of the hundreds of wings in the game come from dungeons and other sources in play (Flight and Wings).

10:27 Some rare cosmetics also change hands between players. aselon_eu notes that hidden cubes can contain tradeable skins and wings, some of which have sold for around 3 to 7 million Kina in Taiwan, depending on the market (Market and Exchange).

New skins and collaborations

NC's update of Mar 25, 2026 added the Black Cat, Sporty Chic Fit and Warm-Hearted Maid skins, the Creepy Night Cat Wings and two pets, Babymeow and Aristomeow (NC, Mar 25, 2026). From Jun 17, 2026 the fromis_9 Collaboration released themed costumes, weapons, pets and wings; a player wearing a complete set transforms into one of the group's members, and a new dance emote lets nearby players join in (NC, Jun 17, 2026). Aion2 Hub dates the end of the collaboration to Aug 12, 2026.

6:28 Battle passes are another source. The Taiwanese passes at launch already included a skin chest with outfits among their rewards (Daeva Pass).

Founder's Pack cosmetics

0:00 The global release adds cosmetics sold only in bundles. NC's showcase of the Ultimate Founder's Pack presents the tier whose Moonlit Aria Armor Skin, Black Dragon Pet and Blazing Sun Wings join the Deluxe tier's Ascended Daeva Armor Skin and Eternal Sun Weapon Skin. NC's pack notice calls them appearance-only items that grant no additional stats.

50:45 Players had pointed out that some of these cosmetics were sold directly in the Korean version's shop. On NC's global livestream of Aug 7, 2026 its representative said that on the global version they would be available only in the Founder's Packs and not for direct sale afterwards. The pack notes Anders read in July had allowed that components might be resold in identical or similar forms.

For the open Launch Scale Test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026, NC's announcement of Aug 26 said the closet would be disabled and characters would wear default outfits only, although NC's X account said on Sep 16 that wardrobe and character customization would be available; Founder's Pack items were unavailable either way (Steam, Aug 26, 2026).

Frequently asked questions

Are Aion 2 cosmetics pay to win? NC says Aion 2's shop cosmetics are purely aesthetic. Creators who play in Korea and Taiwan confirm that shop skins, pets and wings carry no stats, whereas pets and wings earned in play do.

Can you get outfits without paying? Yes. NC says the vast majority of Aion 2's outfits come from play, and creators show hundreds earned in dungeons and the open world.

What did the global shop sell when it opened? Aion 2's global shop sells its first lineup from Sep 30, 2026 to the Oct 28 maintenance: five outfit sets at US$29.99 or 2,200 Quna, Mystic Light and Precious weapon skins at US$11.99, two pets and two wing skins at US$19.99, and helm, decor and emote items at 300 Quna.

Can any class use the shop weapon skins? No. Each weapon skin in Aion 2's global launch shop can be bought only by the class that uses that weapon, such as the Bow skins for the Ranger and the Orb skins for the Spiritmaster.

Do shop skins count towards closet collections? No. NC's notice says Aion 2's global launch skins earn no Collection Points, and creators report the same for premium skins in Korea.

Are cosmetics shared between characters? Partly. On Aion 2's global version the US$29.99 outfit sets work for the characters on the buyer's server, while the 2,200-Quna sets and the wings belong to the character that bought them. In Korea and Taiwan pets have been shared across a server since January 2026, and Special-grade costumes and pets since June 2026.

What else does the shop sell? Aion 2's shop sells consumables such as potions and resurrection stones and, in Korea, character slots, storage expansions and support-package tokens. NC's global plan says consumables can also be earned.

Will Founder's Pack cosmetics be sold again? NC said on Aug 7, 2026 that on the global version they would be available only in the Founder's Packs.

When do Aion 2's launch skins leave the shop? At the maintenance of Oct 28, 2026 (the night of Oct 27 in Pacific time), according to NC's notice of Sep 30; NC announced no extension before that maintenance. That covers the five outfit sets, the Mystic Light and Precious weapon skins, the Chonky Hamster and White Bunny pets and the two wing skins; the eight emotes are on permanent sale.

What Halloween skins does Aion 2 sell? From Oct 14 to the maintenance of Nov 24, 2026, Aion 2's global shop sells the Monarch of Blood, Midnight Witch and Midnight Slasher outfit sets at US$29.99, a Halloween Night weapon skin for each class at US$11.99, the Pumpkin Carriage and Little Ghost pets and Spider Wings at US$19.99, and Halloween helms and face pieces at 300 Quna. A skeleton breastplate skin is free from the Halloween event's coin shop.

Do skins and pets move with a server transfer in Aion 2? Yes. NC's notices of Oct 9, 2026 say all closet skins and pets move with the transferring characters, are combined with those on the destination server and are removed from the old one. Duplicates become a Pet Reward Ticket or a Skin (Single) Reward Ticket, both valid until the Nov 24, 2026 maintenance.

Can Founder's Pack skins be used on every character? Yes, since the patch of Oct 6, 2026 (PDT). A free Founder's Pack shop lets each character on each server claim the pack cosmetics of the buyer's tier that it does not already own, until NC announces its closure.

What free cosmetics come with the Ludra event? From Nov 4 to Nov 17, 2026 (PST), Aion 2's Ludra Conquest Check-In gives the Lush Leaf Tiara helm for seven daily check-ins, and Twitch Drops for up to 14 hours of watching give Skin Chests, Mysterious Pet Chests, Customization and Appearance Change Vouchers, the Dotted Glasses and the Black Conical Hat helm, according to NC's notice of Oct 23. Every entrant in the Ludra Outfit Contest also receives two Dye Tokens.

How do I change an outfit's colors in Aion 2? In the Closet (ESC, then Closet), where the customizable sets can be recolored. NC sent every player a Customization Voucher (Bound) on Oct 5, 2026 for that purpose.
