Kina and Quna

Aion 2's two currencies: Kina, earned in play and split into regular and bound Kina in March 2026, and Quna, the premium currency, sold on the global version from US$5.99 for 400 since Sep 30, 2026, with how players swap one for the other and the caps set against bots.

Kina and Quna are the two currencies of Aion 2. Kina (spelled Kinah in NC's 2025 releases and by many players) is the money earned by playing and spent on crafting, upgrades, NPC shops and the player Market; Quna is the premium currency, bought with real money and spent in the shop, on Daeva Passes and on Kina offered by other players. There is no automated conversion: as Society Of Gaming explains from the Taiwanese client, Quna turns into Kina only when another player sells Kina for it. NC had said before the Korean and Taiwanese launch that players would be able to exchange in-game currency for premium currency, and both that version and the global version, whose shop opened on Sep 30, 2026 and which has been free to play since Oct 5, work this way (Business Model).

Kina

Kina is the currency almost everything runs on. CrusherXGaming's guide of August 2026 sums up the split: gear, crafting materials and the important auction-house progression items all trade in Kina, while Quna mostly buys cosmetics and convenience. Every player who pre-registered for the Korean and Taiwanese launch received a 100,000 Kinah Box (NC, Sep 12, 2025), and Chief Business Officer Seung-Uk Baek told Hardcore Gamer in June 2026 that crafting and gathering in the open field and selling the results on the auction market is one way players take part in the economy (Crafting and Gathering).

Players who have spent months in the Korean and Taiwanese version agree that Kina is the real limit on progress. aselon_eu found after three months that crafting, enchanting, engraving and stat rerolls all need large amounts of it, which makes Kina the main bottleneck for a character; Enhancement and Soul Imprint and Gear Progression describe those systems.

The steadiest source is dungeons. Society Of Gaming's guide of February 2026, filmed in Taiwan, cites a million Kina or more per run at higher difficulties, including 1.1 million from level nine of a Transcendence dungeon, and recommends crafting popular potions to sell on the market (Expedition Dungeons; Transcendence Dungeons).

aselon_eu's guide of September 2026 adds the limits. Each dungeon's reward cube is opened with Odyle Energy, and a Membership lets a player open it twice for twice the energy. On the Korean version the Kina from those openings begins to fall after roughly 84 reward claims a week, counted across every character on a server, so around four characters are enough to use the full allowance.

Kina (Bound)

NC announced on Mar 11, 2026 that it would separate regular and bound Kina to keep the in-game economy stable, with only regular Kina usable in the Market, the World Market and the Kina Chest obtained through Substance Morph (NC, Mar 11, 2026). Kina (Bound) arrived on Mar 25, which NC said reflected player feedback: it is earned through quests and Duty rewards, NPC shops, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds, while regular Kina remains obtainable through player trading, monster hunting and Odyle Energy Cubes (NC, Mar 25, 2026; Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds). The fan site Aion2 Hub's translations call the two Kinah and Soul-bound Kinah.

In practice, aselon_eu explains, bound Kina cannot be traded to other players or used to buy from the Market, but it pays Market listing fees and most progression costs, including enchanting, crafting, stat rerolls and NPC purchases. The game spends bound Kina first and draws on unbound Kina only when that runs out.

The change was aimed at alternate characters and bot farms. Anders describes how players had leveled alts to a minimum combat power and run dungeons on them for Kina to pass to a main character through shared storage. After the split that became inefficient: dungeons below the harder modes pay bound Kina, while Fire Temple Conquest on Hard pays half bound and half unbound (Fire Temple).

Quna

Quna is bought with money through NC's own payment systems. Two days after the Korean and Taiwanese launch NC said that its proprietary PC payment system accounted for more than 90% of payments, revenue that does not show in mobile app-store rankings (The Asia Business Daily, Nov 21, 2025). NC's global notice of Jul 8, 2026, as reported by Aion2 Hub, lists what Quna buys: shop items, the premium track of the battle pass and, through the exchange, Kina.

For the global version, Society Of Gaming reported in August 2026, citing a notice on NC's website, that card payments on PURPLE go through the provider Xsolla after a one-time verification (Platforms).

Prices differ by region. In July 2026 Society Of Gaming showed the Quna bundles sold in the Taiwanese client, priced in New Taiwan dollars.

The global prices came with the shop's opening on Sep 30, 2026: 400 Quna for US$5.99, 1,000 for US$14.99, 2,000 for US$29.99 and 4,000 for US$59.99, all at the same rate of about 1.5 US cents a Quna. NC bases them on the PURPLE store and warns that other stores may differ (NC, Sep 30, 2026). NC's help center adds that checkout now takes US dollars only, although euros and pounds were accepted before, that NCoin cannot buy Quna, and that Steam players pay from their Steam Wallet. Besides the premium track of the Daeva Pass (1,500 Quna, with pass levels at 50 each), the Tsenka Merchants sell Quna consumables such as a Resurrection Spiritstone for 100 Quna, a Hidden Cube key for 50 (three a day) and storage expansions for 200, and some outfit sets cost 2,200 Quna (Cash Shop and Cosmetics).

Turning Kina into Quna, and back

The swap runs through Kina Chests. A player uses Substance Morph to turn Kina into a chest and lists it on the exchange, where another player buys it with Quna. AMValentine's one-minute tutorial from launch week in November 2025 shows the route, and notes that chests were being bought out quickly while Kina was still expensive.

Chests come in 400,000, 2 million and 10 million Kina sizes. Selling one needs a Membership just as buying does, Society Of Gaming notes, so a player hoping to earn Quna through play also needs a subscription (Membership). NC's global notice describes the exchange as entirely between players, with no listings or purchases made by the game.

The exchange rate is not set by NC. Society Of Gaming stresses that it depends only on supply and demand, that the Taiwanese rate of July 2026 would not carry over to the global servers, and that Early Access and launch servers were likely to see different demand for Kina and Quna.

The exchange is also where money meets power. SywoGG, who plays in Taiwan, describes the path as real money for Quna, Quna for Kina, and Kina for the crafted gear on the auction house that is the best in the game; Controversies covers the argument over whether that makes Aion 2 pay to win.

Trunx Official, a newcomer reviewing the Launch Scale Test in September 2026, described the same route on the global version: a big spender can buy premium currency and exchange it for in-game currency, which he called pay to win at its core, even though nothing bought cannot also be earned; what the spender buys, in his view, is time, and he expected it to sting in PvP rather than PvE.

Caps and anti-bot limits

The Korean and Taiwanese servers have limited how fast Kina can be farmed since the first weeks, largely to fight bots. According to the fan site Aion2 Hub's translated patch notes, the update of Nov 26, 2025 gated brokerage to members and capped Kina from hunting, with an emergency follow-up the same day that expanded the daily cap; Dec 10, 2025 brought a lower daily Kina cap alongside the cross-server World Brokerage; and Jan 7, 2026 added a CAPTCHA anti-bot system. MassivelyOP had reported player complaints about bots within days of launch (MassivelyOP, Nov 22, 2025).

By September 2026, aselon_eu reports, Kina from normal open-world monsters was capped at 1 million a day in Taiwan and Korea, while the Abyss had no such cap, which makes it an alternative once dungeon energy runs out, at the price of farming in a PvP zone.

The global version

The global version keeps both currencies and the player-run exchange. The open Launch Scale Test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026 turned off Quna purchases, the Quna exchange and player trading entirely, and its progress was wiped afterwards (Steam, Aug 26, 2026). When the test ended NC disabled direct player-to-player trades as an anti-bot measure, leaving the Market and the exchange as the ways to trade with other players, both of which need a Membership to buy (Steam, Sep 19, 2026; Market and Exchange).

Quna, the exchange and the Market opened with Advanced Access on Sep 30, 2026; the Advanced Access servers have their own Server Markets until a Cross-Server Market opens after launch. Global limits on daily Kina had not been announced by Sep 15, 2026, and NC's notices from the launch to Oct 12, 2026 still give no figure, although the table in its server transfer notice lists "Kina / Abyss Point Daily Earnings" among the records that move with a character, so the global version does keep a daily count.

The first weeks of the live service added a few fixed points. On Oct 4, 2026, the day before the free launch, NC warned that buying "Kinah or Quna" from unauthorized third parties is against its Terms of Service and can end in the loss of access to the game, and on Oct 10 at 23:00 PDT it restricted 4,996 accounts for bots, gold farming, unauthorized programs, real-money trading and abnormal trading. The first weekly patch, on Oct 6 (PDT), gave Kina a new use: the Wind Breeze Merchants sell the Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) for 25,000 Kina each, ten a week per server, until the maintenance of Dec 15, 2026, the same stone the Tsenka Merchants sell for 100 Quna.

Server transfers, which open on Oct 14, 2026, show where each currency lives. The transfer costs 0 Quna, and an extra character slot on the destination costs 1,000 Quna. Only the Kina in a character's Cube inventory and Character Storage moves with it; Kina left in Server Storage stays on the old server. Quna and Mileage move in full and are added to whatever the account already has on the destination, and a duplicated decorative skin is refunded as a ticket that buys a "300 Quna" item in the shop until the maintenance of Nov 24 (Servers).

Frequently asked questions

How do you turn Kinah into Quna? Use Substance Morph to make a Kina Chest (400,000, 2 million or 10 million Kina) and list it on the exchange, where another player buys it with Quna. Both seller and buyer need an active Membership. Buying such a chest with Quna is the way back from Quna to Kinah.

What is the Kinah to Quna exchange rate? There is no fixed rate: NC sets none, and the price of Kina Chests in Quna moves with supply and demand on each server. Check the exchange before you sell.

How do you farm Kinah? From monsters, dungeons, quests and selling on the Market; the routes and their limits are on Kina Farming Guide.

What is the difference between Kina and Quna? In Aion 2, Kina is earned by playing and pays for almost everything, from crafting to Market purchases. Quna is the premium currency, bought with money and spent in the shop, on Daeva Passes or on Kina sold by other players.

Can you buy Kina with real money? Not from NC directly. Aion 2 players buy Quna, then buy Kina Chests that other players list on the exchange, which needs an active Membership on both sides. Bound Kina also comes in the premium track of the global Daeva Pass.

What is bound Kina? Aion 2's Kina (Bound), added on Mar 25, 2026 in Korea and Taiwan, is earned from quests, Duty rewards, NPC shops, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds. Players report that it cannot be traded or used to buy from the Market but pays most other costs, and that the game spends it first.

Can free players get Quna? Yes. In Aion 2 Quna can be earned by selling Kina Chests for Quna on the exchange, although listing a chest also requires a Membership.

Is there a daily Kina limit? In Aion 2's Korean and Taiwanese version, aselon_eu reported in September 2026 that Kina from normal open-world monsters is capped at 1 million a day, and that dungeon Kina falls off after about 84 reward claims a week per server. For the global version NC had published no figure as of Oct 12, 2026.

What is the Quna price in Aion 2? On the global servers, 400 Quna for US$5.99, 1,000 for US$14.99, 2,000 for US$29.99 and 4,000 for US$59.99 on the PURPLE store, on sale since Sep 30, 2026. Other stores may differ.

Can you give Kina to another player? Not directly on Aion 2's global version, where NC disabled direct trades on Sep 19, 2026 and pointed players to the Market instead.

Does Kina transfer when I change servers in Aion 2? The Kina in the character's inventory and Character Storage does; Kina left in Server Storage stays behind. Quna and Mileage move in full and are added to the destination server's balance (NC, Oct 9, 2026; transfers open on Oct 14, 2026).

Is it safe to buy Kina from a website? No. NC wrote on Oct 4, 2026 that buying Kina or Quna from unauthorized parties breaks the Terms of Service and can cost an account its access to Aion 2, and on Oct 10, 2026 (PDT) it restricted 4,996 accounts, real-money trading among the reasons.

How much Quna does a server transfer cost? None for the transfer in the first period (Oct 14 to 28, 2026): NC prices it at 0 Quna, once per account. Each additional character slot needed on the destination server costs 1,000 Quna.

What does a Resurrection Spiritstone cost in Aion 2? On the global version, 100 Quna at the Tsenka Merchants or, since the patch of Oct 6, 2026, 25,000 Kina at the Wind Breeze Merchants, limited to ten a week per server until Dec 15, 2026.
