Market and Exchange

Player trading in Aion 2: the server Market and cross-server World Market, the player-run Kina and Quna Exchange, personal trade and its removal on the global version, listing taxes, the Membership gate, and the separate markets of the global Advanced Access servers.

The Market is the player-run auction house of Aion 2, where players buy and sell items for Kina at prices they set themselves. It comes in two scopes, a Market for one server and a World Market (also called the World Brokerage) that links servers, and sits beside the Kina and Quna Exchange, where Kina is sold for premium currency. Society Of Gaming, playing in Taiwan in July 2026, explains the two markets and why most players list on the World Market. On the Korean and Taiwanese servers, and on the global version, trading on either needs an active Membership. On the global servers, free to play since Oct 5, 2026, only the Server Market has opened: as of Oct 27, 2026 NC has announced no date for the Cross-Server Market, and direct trade between players has been disabled since Sep 19.

Trading with Kina

Trading was part of NC's pitch before launch. Revealing the Trade system at the Aion2NIGHT livestream of Aug 8, 2025, producer Namjoon Kim said it lets players exchange items with in-game currency instead of premium currency, a design chosen after careful consideration (NC, Aug 12, 2025). In March 2026 NC confirmed that only regular Kina, not Kina (Bound), can be used in the Market and the World Market (NC, Mar 11, 2026; Kina and Quna). Chief Business Officer Seung-Uk Baek told Hardcore Gamer in June 2026 that players craft and gather in the open field and put their goods up on the auction market, which is one way of taking part in the economy (Crafting and Gathering).

Selling carries a tax. Society Of Gaming reported in July 2026 that the Taiwanese World Market takes 20% and the single-server Market 10%, and that players still use the World Market because items sell faster there.

For a player who crafts, the Market is hard to do without. Anders notes that without Membership a player loses a major source of Kina, selling dungeon drops and field boss loot, and that a platoon cannot sell a rare field-boss drop and split the proceeds among its members; a newer transfer system in Korea has reduced reliance on the Market somewhat.

Early prices are volatile. EPIC PLK's pre-launch guide of August 2026 advises against buying anything on the first day, when nobody has farmed much and the first listings ask very high prices even for basics, and expects prices to settle after three or four days.

The Kina and Quna Exchange

The exchange trades Kina for Quna between players. A seller turns Kina into a Kina Chest through Substance Morph and lists it; a buyer pays Quna. AMValentine's tutorial from launch week in November 2025 shows the menus and the rates on offer, and warns that chests sold out fast while Kina was expensive.

NC's global notice of Jul 8, 2026, as reported by the fan site Aion2 Hub, describes the exchange as working like the Market: one player lists Kina, another spends Quna to buy it, and the game makes no listings or purchases of its own. The notice says twice that an active Membership is required to trade on both. Since Sep 30, 2026 global players can buy Quna in the shop, from 400 for US$5.99 to 4,000 for US$59.99 on the PURPLE store.

CrusherXGaming compares the exchange with the gem exchange of Guild Wars 2 and notes that NC kept it for the global version and locked it behind the same US$15 Membership as the auction house. In his view, in an MMO built on a gear grind, that gate covers the economy itself rather than a convenience.

Personal trade

Outside the Market, Membership unlocks direct trade between players on the same server. Anders, describing the Korean version, calls it powerful and says it is used there to buy dungeon clears, which NC has been cracking down on. NC's Steam post of Aug 21, 2026 lists Access to Personal Trading among the perks of the global Special Quai Membership, settling a point CrusherXGaming had flagged as missing from NC's July breakdown (Steam, Aug 21, 2026).

The global version then dropped it before launch. When the Launch Scale Test ended, NC wrote on Sep 19, 2026 that "as an anti-bot measure, direct player-to-player trades are disabled" and that "the Market remains our central hub for trading between players" (Steam, Sep 19, 2026). The fan blog Aion Strategies noted that NC had advertised Personal Trading as a Membership perk only a month earlier, had named no replacement, and that a player can no longer simply hand gear or materials to a friend. NC's Membership notice as revised on Sep 28 still lists personal trade five times a day with another member (Controversies).

EUTOPIA's guide of Sep 29 drew the consequence: with direct player-to-player trading disabled, the Market becomes much more important, so a player who wants to take advantage of it more or less needs the Membership, and calling Aion 2 completely cosmetic is not accurate when spending money can affect more than a character's appearance.

The Membership gate

The gate predates the global plan. According to Aion2 Hub's translated patch notes, the Korean service gated brokerage to members on Nov 26, 2025 as one of several anti-bot measures, a week after launch, and opened the cross-server World Brokerage on Dec 10, 2025. At the Taiwanese launch the basic Wind Breeze membership already listed Market sale registration and the Quna exchange among its perks, as Society Of Gaming showed in November 2025.

On the global version NC's Membership notice, revised on Sep 28, 2026, describes the Market perk as buying: without Membership items can be listed for sale but not purchased, while the World Market allows neither. The Kina and Quna Exchange needs Membership outright (NC, Sep 28, 2026). mein-mmo's guide to the European servers of Sep 30 put it more simply: trading on the Market is possible only with the optional monthly subscription.

CrusherXGaming's comparison of free and paying players, six days before Advanced Access, calls Membership the key to the Market and the exchange and reports the same split, that free players can still list items for sale but cannot buy, while noting that not every source agreed.

Not every player thinks it worked. Grobs, reviewing the game after 250 hours in December 2025, notes that limiting bots was one of the reasons for requiring a subscription to use the auction house and trade, yet found the game so full of bots that they flooded the auction house, with runaway inflation on the Taiwanese servers.

Playing without it is possible but slow. Divium Furor leveled a Gladiator for a month without Membership, the Market or the bank and reached an equipment score of 2,355, enough for most dungeons with a group, but not for the Sanctuary, where the groups he checked wanted around 3,000 or more (Gear Progression).

Advanced Access and launch markets

NC's global notice of Jul 8, 2026 added that early access servers would have separate Markets, exchanges and PvP matching for a period. Its follow-up of Jul 17, as summarized by Aion2 Hub, sets out two scopes: a Server Market available from the first day of early access and after launch, and a Cross-Server Market joining every server in a region, which does not open at the start of early access or at launch but after release, once participating servers have reached a similar stage (Global Release; Founder's Packs).

Anders noted in July that this puts early access servers on their own market rather than the wider one Korean players are used to, and that their Abyss and invasion matching would also be limited to other early access servers for a while.

That is how Advanced Access opened on Sep 30, 2026: NC's launch release, as reported by Inven Global, listed the market and economy among the systems live from the first day, and mein-mmo's guide to the European servers repeated that the Server Market is available in early access while the Cross-Server Market comes neither with early access nor directly at launch, so that early players do not upset the economy of the launch servers. Players on the Advanced Access servers also stay apart from the launch servers when free transfers begin on Oct 14: they may move only between Advanced Access servers (Servers).

CrusherXGaming saw an effect on the economy in that head start: every Founder's Pack carries the same five days and 30 days of Membership, so pack buyers get five days of Market access before free players log in, and in his view the economy that free players walked into on Oct 5 would already have been shaped by those who paid.

During the open Launch Scale Test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026 the Marketplace, the Quna exchange and player-to-player trading were all disabled, along with every shop and payment portal (Steam, Aug 26, 2026). EUTOPIA, recording after the first day, pointed out that the test therefore said nothing about the launch economy, and that the global Membership then on offer listed Market access and personal trading among its perks.

Since the global launch

The free launch of Oct 5, 2026 changed nothing in the Market's rules: each server still has its own Server Market, buying still needs a Membership, and NC's notices up to Oct 27, 2026 name no opening date for the Cross-Server Market. What NC has published since then concerns moving between servers and policing the economy.

Server transfers, which open after the maintenance of Oct 13 (PDT), or Oct 14 in Europe, treat the Market as unfinished business. NC's transfer notice of Oct 9, 2026 says a character cannot transfer while its account has items registered for sale on the Market, items waiting to be collected, or sale proceeds not yet received; unclaimed mail and unclaimed Shop Storage items block a transfer in the same way. Once those are cleared, Market history moves with the character, as does the Kina in its Cube inventory and Character Storage, while Kina and items left in Server Storage stay behind. Quna and Mileage move in full and are added to whatever the account holds on the destination server (Servers; Kina and Quna). The first transfer period ran to the maintenance of Oct 27 (PDT); NC held transfers on Oct 26 and resumed them on Oct 27 for characters of level 45 or higher, up from 10, so the same Market checks applied to the last moves (Server Transfer Guide).

NC also began to act against the trading it does not want. On Oct 10, 2026 at 23:00 PDT it restricted 4,996 accounts of the global version, naming bots and gold farming, unauthorized programs, real-money trading (RMT) and "abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy", and added that normal play, long grinding sessions included, is not affected. A week earlier, on Oct 4, it had warned players against buying illicit currency. The first weekly patch of Oct 6 (PDT) touched supply as well: it raised the drop rate of Raw Leather in Verteron, Altgard and Chaotic Lower Reshanta, and capped the Substance Morph that turns Sealed Wings into Enhance Stones at 20 a week per server.

The restrictions kept coming. NC restricted 10,000 more accounts on Oct 12 at 23:00 PDT and 9,422 on Oct 14 at 00:00 PDT, for the same reasons, bringing the three rounds to 24,418 accounts in four days; a fourth, at 22:00 PDT on Oct 15 (06:00 CEST on Oct 16), restricted 7,933 more for gold farming, bot operations, unauthorized programs and real-money trading, and a fifth, at 21:00 PDT on Oct 16 (06:00 CEST on Oct 17), restricted 10,326 more, for 42,677 accounts in a week. After three quiet days the sixth and largest round came at 18:00 PDT on Oct 20 (03:00 CEST on Oct 21), a few hours before that week's maintenance: 15,380 accounts for gold farming and bot operations, unauthorized programs and real-money trading, bringing the global version's total to 58,057 in ten days. A seventh came at 17:00 PDT on Oct 23 (02:00 CEST on Oct 24): 12,586 accounts for the same reasons, for 70,643 in all. The eighth, at 20:00 PDT on Oct 28 (04:00 CET on Oct 29), was the smallest since the first: 4,651 accounts for gold farming and bot operations, unauthorized programs and real-money trading, for 75,294 in all (NC on Steam). NC's notice repeats that restrictions come only after review and that "normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected". From the second round on, its notices also explain temporary security locks: accounts reached from a device or connection that looks like a possible compromise are locked as a precaution, which NC says is not a penalty, until Customer Support restores access. The second weekly patch, on Oct 13 (PDT), went after the bots' goods directly: it added "a system" that restricts listing gathering materials on the Market "based on gameplay history", without saying what history qualifies (Crafting and Gathering). The third, on Oct 20 (PDT), adjusted that system: some previously restricted players can trade normally again, while the restriction stays for others (NC on Steam).

Frequently asked questions

Do you need a Membership to use the Market in Aion 2? To buy, yes. On the global version NC's notice lets players without Membership list items for sale but not buy them, and the Kina and Quna Exchange needs Membership outright, as it does in Korea and Taiwan. The global Membership costs US$14.99 for 30 days, and every Founder's Pack includes 30 days.

Can you trade items directly with another player? Not on the global version of Aion 2. NC disabled direct player-to-player trades on Sep 19, 2026 as an anti-bot measure, leaving the Market as the place to trade, and they were still disabled as of Oct 27, 2026.

Is there a cross-server market? In Korea and Taiwan the World Market links servers; Aion2 Hub dates its Korean debut to Dec 10, 2025. On the global version of Aion 2 a Cross-Server Market opens neither during Advanced Access nor at the Oct 5, 2026 launch, but later, once servers reach a similar stage; as of Oct 27, 2026 NC has given no date.

What does selling on the Market cost? Society Of Gaming reported a 20% tax on the World Market and 10% on the server Market in Taiwan in July 2026. NC's global notices up to Oct 27, 2026 do not give a rate for Aion 2's global Market.

Why can't I list gathering materials on the Market in Aion 2? Since the patch of Oct 13, 2026 (PDT), Aion 2's global version restricts listing gathering materials on the Market based on a character's gameplay history, a measure aimed at gold farming bots. The patch of Oct 20 (PDT) let some restricted players trade normally again. NC has not published the exact conditions.

How many accounts has NC restricted for gold farming and real-money trading in Aion 2? 75,294 global accounts in eight rounds from Oct 10 to Oct 28, 2026 (PDT): 4,996, 10,000, 9,422, 7,933, 10,326, 15,380, 12,586 and 4,651, each for bots, gold farming, unauthorized programs or real-money trading, according to NC's notices.

Can you buy Market items with Quna? Not directly. Aion 2's Market trades in Kina only, so Quna must first buy Kina from another player through the exchange.

Do Advanced Access servers share a market with launch servers? Not at first. Each Aion 2 global server has its own Server Market, and the Cross-Server Market, which would join the servers of a region, had not opened as of Oct 27, 2026.

Could you trade during the Launch Scale Test? No. Aion 2's Marketplace, the Quna exchange and player trading were disabled for the test on Sep 17 and 18, 2026.

Is the Cross-Server Market open on Aion 2's global servers? Not as of Oct 27, 2026. Only the Server Market of each server is open; NC has said the Cross-Server Market comes after release, once the servers of a region reach a similar stage, and has announced no date.

Can I transfer servers in Aion 2 with items listed on the Market? No. NC's transfer notice of Oct 9, 2026 blocks a transfer while the account has items registered for sale, items waiting for collection or sale proceeds not yet received. Clear them first; Market history, Quna, Mileage and the Kina in the character's inventory and Character Storage then move with it.

Does NC ban accounts for buying or selling Kina for real money in Aion 2? Yes. On Oct 10, 2026 (PDT) NC restricted 4,996 global accounts for bots, gold farming, unauthorized programs, real-money trading and abnormal trading patterns, and it warned against buying illicit currency on Oct 4, 2026. Seven more rounds followed, the largest on Oct 20 (PDT) with 15,380 accounts, and the latest on Oct 28 (PDT) with 4,651, for 75,294 accounts in all by Oct 29.

How do I give an item to a friend in Aion 2? On the global version there is no direct way as of Oct 27, 2026: player-to-player trades are disabled, so the Server Market of your own server is the only route between players, and buying there needs an active Membership.
