Deltras

15:02 Deltras is a figure from the history of Aion who appears in Aion 2 as the final boss of Snowfield of Sorrow, a Sanctuary raid added to the Korean and Taiwanese version on Sep 9, 2026. In the original game's lore, as Azphel retells it, Deltras was the brigade general of the Elyos Storm Legion, sent by the Empyrean Lord Nezekan through a newly opened rift above Verteron to investigate the realm beyond it. His expedition led to the first meeting of the Elyos and Asmodians, which ended with his death and set off the Abyss War. The wider history is on Story and Lore.

The Deltras Incident

14:34 Almost 250 years after the Cataclysm, Azphel's recap continues, earthquakes shook the land around Verteron in Elysea. A piece of Verteron was heaved into the sky, a blue light shone from the cracks, and a Daeva who walked into the light came back minutes later to report that it was a doorway to another space. Nezekan built a fortress by the first great fissure and sent Deltras and the Storm Legion through.

15:22 Asmodae saw omens of its own. Tremors and lights in the sky led to rumors that the Balaur were returning, and Lord Marchutan foretold that a doorway would open in the desert of Morheim. Lord Asphel sent Lord Zikel with a force to Morheim, where it made camp and waited. Beyond the rift, meanwhile, the Storm Legion met a huge Balaur army in the unknown land that would come to be called the Abyss, and won, but was left a fraction of its strength.

16:37 Hoping for rest, Deltras led what remained through another portal, assuming it would take them home to Elysea. Instead they came out in a cold, barren desert and met its native people: tall, clawed beings with manes down their backs, like the Elyos but darker and fiercer. From this point, Azphel notes, the story exists in two versions, one told by the Elyos and one by the Asmodians.

17:31 Whatever happened, the outcome is agreed. Deltras was killed, and the Storm Legion was cut down to ten Daevas, who fled back through the rift; only two of them reached Sanctum. Their report, that the other Empyrean Lords had survived and their followers now walked a path of darkness, drove the Seraphim Lords to declare war on Asmodae, and the Asmodians carried the war into the Abyss.

19:34 That first battle opened the Abyss War. The Deltras story was also told as a comic, The Tragedy of Deltras. Azphel adds that a later battle is considered the war's true beginning, though most people still remember the Deltras Incident as its start (see The Abyss (Reshanta)).

0:48 Aion 2 gives the event a date. An in-game note that Azphel cites counts years from the Cataclysm as year zero: the Millennium War began a thousand years before it, and the Deltras Incident happened 249 years after it. The same note says the war between Elyos and Asmodians lasted 2,000 years.

Snowfield of Sorrow

NC listed Snowfield of Sorrow among the new Sanctuary content of its Chapter 1 roadmap in June 2026 (NC). It arrived with the Korean and Taiwanese maintenance of Sep 9, 2026 and has Deltras as its final boss, as the fan site Aion2 Hub's translation of the patch notes and Blazeon's patch video both report (Aion2 Hub, fan source).

0:54 Blazeon describes a Sanctuary with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulties, designed as a vast, bleak, frozen war zone rather than an ordinary ice dungeon, whose lore centers on the tragic fight of Deltras, the Storm Legion's commander. He goes further and says Deltras was captured and executed by Zikel. That detail is his reading of the patch: the translated patch notes used for this page give no lore text, and in the history Azphel retells, the two factions tell the story of Deltras's death differently.

1:21 In Blazeon's account, fragments of Deltras's heart were scattered across the snow after his death, and the raid takes place inside his frozen world, where his memories, sorrow and the circumstances of his death have become the landscape itself.

2:56 The raid launched a Hall of Fame: a server-wide record of the first, second and third kills of a Sanctuary's last boss, for Snowfield of Sorrow on Hard only. Each entry records character, server and legion names, class, the highest combat power and item level reached during the run, force order, date and clear time. Characters who made no contribution are not recorded, and an entry does not change if a name is changed later. According to Aion2 Hub, a first-clear race also rewarded the first force with the title "The First to Break the Sword of Bitter Cold and Ice" and a Golden Void pet, with Silver Void pets for second to fifth and Bronze Void pets for sixth to twentieth.

7:43 The patch also added a new equipment slot, the Seal. Seals can be crafted, or made by converting equipment vouchers from Snowfield of Sorrow with Kina (see Gear Progression and Kina and Quna).

Fighting Deltras

0:55 Madsin's video of Sep 11, 2026, recorded from a Cleric's point of view on Hard, shows how tight the damage check is. One member of his force points out that even after surviving the wave mechanic the boss enrages about ten seconds later, so a force needs either the gear or the confidence to push through.

5:40 The force's calls give an idea of the mechanics: alternating cleaves to the right and left, then a tank buster that must always be taken on the outside of the group.

8:29 In the final phase Deltras leaps to the middle of the arena and each player runs to a pillar before the force closes in again and brings him down.

The global version

32:01 The global version, open to Founder's Pack owners since Sep 30, 2026 and to everyone from Oct 5, launched with a different Sanctuary in mind. NC's team said on Aug 7, 2026 that Sanctuary parties grow from eight to ten players and that the first raid is Ludra, a dragon-like boss whose fight splits the raid into two groups. NC's team has also said the global version will start close to a year behind Korea in content and roll out the backlog over time (Hardcore Gamer). No global date for Snowfield of Sorrow appears in the sources used for this page.

What is the Snowfield of Sorrow Hall of Fame? A server-wide record of the first three kills of Deltras on Hard, with the names, class, combat power, item level, date and clear time of each force.

What does Snowfield of Sorrow reward? Among other things, equipment vouchers that can be converted with Kina into Seal equipment, the slot added in the same patch.
