Transcendence Dungeons

Aion 2's timed party dungeons and main source of Arcana: kill counts, grades and stage ladders, the launch pair Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, Submerged Life Temple, Mirror of Scarlet Desire, the Chapter 1 additions, weekly limits and the global version.

Transcendence dungeons are the timed, staged party dungeons of Aion 2 and the main source of Arcana, the cards that add skill levels and combat power to a character. At the Korea and Taiwan launch of November 2025 there were two, Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, and higher difficulties give a chance at better cards. NC has since added Submerged Life Temple, Mirror of Scarlet Desire and Abyssal Horn Den, and announced Noiran's Hidden Legacy. They sit beside the untimed Expedition Dungeons in NC's party content, and the wider system is described on Dungeons.

How Transcendence works

In NC's Dungeon Live Gameplay Showcase of Sep 4, 2026 the hosts set Transcendence against Conquest. Conquest dungeons have no timer and can be taken at the group's own pace; Transcendence runs are against the clock, the party must fill a kill count, and the speed of the clear earns a grade of S, A, B, C or lower.

Madsin's guide to Submerged Life Temple shows how the count works: ordinary monsters give two points and mini-bosses 45, and the final boss's arena opens only when the target is reached. Each tier also switches on special effects. In that dungeon the life-steal nerf starts at level 2 and grows with each tier up to 50%; from level 3 bosses drop star-shaped projectile blasts on players; and from level 4 every member is poisoned when an elite dies, though the cloud can be cleansed.

Anders sums the format up for the global version in September 2026: the party fights through two named bosses and enough monsters to unlock the final boss while the clock runs. He reports that NC's global streams confirmed four difficulty levels at launch, each adding a new debuff such as poison pools or damage-over-time ailments, more boss mechanics and a higher kill count. Level 1 on the global version can already give rare Arcana, whereas in Korea it gave only common cards, which made opening its reward cube pointless at launch.

MR4KTV contrasts this with Conquest Expeditions, where some groups skip the first bosses and go straight to the last one; in Transcendence a set number of monsters and bosses must die before the last boss can be fought. The runs also drop the materials that morph into Stigma shards for upgrading Stigma skills (see Skills, Stigmas and Macros), which the Korean patch notes of Dec 16, 2025 added as Unstable Stigma Shard (Engraved) in the Fextralife wiki's fan translation. Each dungeon keeps a ranking, and top places earn titles (Arcana and Gear Progression cover the rewards in more depth).

Rewards and weekly limits

Society Of Gaming describes Transcendence as weekly rather than daily content in the Korean and Taiwanese game. The reward at the end of a run costs the same energy as a Conquest Expedition, so players divide one pool of energy between the two, and the global launch opens with the two original dungeons.

NC raised the weekly limit on Transcendence rewards from 7 to 14 on May 13, 2026 (NC, May 13, 2026). The Season 2 roadmap of January 2026 promised adjustments to ticket consumption for Expedition and Transcendence (NC, Jan 7, 2026), and the Chapter 1 update of Jul 1, 2026 removed the tickets altogether, so that rewards are now obtained through Odyle Energy; the same update raised Transcendence parties to five players (NC, Jul 6, 2026). The fan translations of the early Korean patch notes also record the monster levels of stages 7 to 10 being raised on Nov 21, 2025 and those of stage 10 again on Nov 26 (Patch Notes, Fextralife).

Each dungeon has its own card families. In December 2025 RedCloud found compasses and bells in Deus Research Base and parchments and mirrors in Shattered Arkanis, with a low chance of a lower-quality grail from either. Every equipped card adds combat power by grade: 20 for common, 40 for rare, 60 for the blue grade and 80 for unique, and cards also form two- and four-piece sets.

Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis

Deus Research Base, the easier launch dungeon according to BoredAF, has three bosses. Its final boss, Atiel, chains pairs of players who must run apart to break the link, shouts to push the party back while waves stun anyone they catch and the platform shrinks, and tethers everyone with blue chains that punish distance. At about 20% he jumps to the middle and must be staggered, or he breaks the platform and wipes the group. BoredAF filmed level 4 or higher, where an extra mechanic appears that lower tiers lack.

Shattered Arkanis is the harder of the pair. Its first boss, Siliator of Deceit in BoredAF's chapter titles, sends blades that bounce between players who stand together and chase two others, whose blades must be steered into each other. The second boss seals off the arena a quarter at a time and calls down lightning, and the last, Talisra of the Void in the same chapter titles, has players split into color pairs to gather white and dark orbs, destroy a white spear and stand in colored bubbles in the order that flashes on its weapon.

Submerged Life Temple

NC scheduled Submerged Life Temple for Feb 4, 2026 as the new Transcendence dungeon of Season 2, with difficulties from stage 1 to stage 10 (NC, Jan 7, 2026; Season 2).

Its first boss sings a different tune before each main mechanic: one for a line dash that expands, one for walls like those of the Kromede fight, and one for three circles that turn into donut-shaped blasts in the order they fell. Players caught by some of its attacks are trapped in bubbles and take damage until a party member jumps in to free them. A mini-boss later locks its stagger bar at 65% and fires everywhere except a cone marked by a blue diamond.

At 75% and 25% the final boss leaps to the center and casts a storm that kills everyone left on the ground, so the party must reach one of the glowing jump pads at the edge of the arena, which move each time. At 50% it raises a rotating wall and scatters wisps that explode unless players collect them, and Madsin advises Clerics to cleanse its debuffs as soon as they appear.

Mirror of Scarlet Desire

NC released Mirror of Scarlet Desire on May 13, 2026, set in "a fantastical space born from love" within the shattered fragments of Kromede. Entry needs item level 3,200, rising at higher difficulties, and clearing it gives Noble Crystal (Bound), used to craft three new Arcana sets: Punishing Overture, Protected Soul and Indomitable Dedication (NC, May 13, 2026).

Games On introduced it the day after release as another Kromede dungeon, this time a Transcendence one, with the usual three bosses and the most important mechanics on the first and the last. His guide covers stages 1 to 4.

The final boss is fought by dodging until about 70%, when players must look at each mirror and use the emote matching the image once it stops spinning, with the number above each mirror showing how many players are needed. From level 4 each member also carries a green circle to place near the boss. The dungeon has its own page, Mirror of Scarlet Desire.

Chapter 1 additions

The Chapter 1 update of Jul 1, 2026, "Lands of Sand and Snow", added Abyssal Horn Den, which needs level 50 and item level 3,500, with higher item levels for higher difficulties (NC, Jul 6, 2026). NC's roadmap of June 2026 also lists Noiran's Hidden Legacy among the new Transcendence dungeons of Chapter 1 (NC, Jun 17, 2026; Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow).

Transcendence on the global version

Transcendence was closed in the free Launch Scale Test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026, which capped characters at level 37, and so was the Arcana system it feeds. On the global servers the content opened with Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis for parties of five, on the early access servers from Sep 30, 2026 and for everyone from Oct 5, and NC told Hardcore Gamer that the global version will run close to a year behind Korea, releasing the backlog as data shows players are ready (Hardcore Gamer, Jun 16, 2026). Like all instanced content on the global version, the dungeons are cross-server (NC on Steam).

NC made the pair the subject of its first competitive launch event. The Transcendence Dungeon Leaderboard awards Rank Points for clearing Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis from Oct 5 to Nov 2, 2026, starting on Sep 30 on the early access servers; rankings are kept per server and per class and are checked in game under ESC, Transcendence, Rank, Class. The top 10 in each ranking receive 35,000 Enhance Stones, 30 Amplify Stones (Unique), a Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, five Soul Codex Resets and 20 bound Resurrection Spiritstones; places 11 to 50 receive 12,000 Enhance Stones, 15 Amplify Stones, three Soul Codex Resets and ten Resurrection Spiritstones. NC names the top rankers on Nov 9 and sends rewards by Nov 16 (NC on Steam; Enhancement and Soul Imprint).
