Cleric

The Cleric of Aion 2: the main healer, a mace-and-shield priest with the only resurrection, Healing Light and party buffs, damage between heals, the Reincarnating Touch Stigma, its place in dungeons and raids, and its weakness in duels.

The Cleric is the dedicated healer of Aion 2, a priest who fights with a mace and shield and keeps its party alive with heals, cleanses, shields and resurrection. It is one of the eight launch classes, playable in Korea and Taiwan since Nov 19, 2025 and on the global servers since Advanced Access opened on Sep 30, 2026, ahead of the free-to-play launch on Oct 5. Other classes can heal or help a group survive, but Grobs says the Cleric has by far the most complete healing toolkit. NC's 2025 description adds that the class now features "improved damage capabilities", and creators agree that a Cleric spends much of a fight dealing damage between heals. The other support class is the Chanter, and all the classes are compared on Classes.

On the global servers

The Cleric is one of the eight classes of the global client, under that name. In Ruca777's all-classes showcase, uploaded on Sep 30, 2026 as Advanced Access opened, a level 30 Cleric fights the same boss as the other seven classes in a dark red arena, with the full interface on screen.

Its attacks made an impression in the Launch Scale Test of September 2026. MassivelyOP's Tyler F.M. Edwards, who played mostly a Chanter there and briefly tried every other class, ended up having more fun with the Cleric because its attacks had much more satisfying visuals and sounds. He noted that despite its name the Cleric leans mainly on lightning and earth, which gives it more of a druid or shaman feel than the usual holy magic.

CrusherXGaming's global tier list of Sep 28, 2026 puts the Cleric in A tier: slower on its own, but "every one of those groups still needs a healer", so it is one of his picks for a guaranteed party spot.

XifanGG's list of Sep 29, 2026 goes further for players who do not spend money: "without a doubt, cleric is the S tier", because a party still needs its healing when it is undergeared. The same list ranks the Cleric S tier for raid progression, though B tier in late PvE, where fast kills need less healing.

Role

On NC's global release preview livestream of Aug 7, 2026, a presenter described the Cleric as the more traditional of the two healers, with a resurrection usable in combat that is especially useful while a group is learning a fight and dying a lot. The Fextralife wiki describes a healer with strong recovery and protective magic.

SywoGG compares a party to a pizza and the Cleric to the dough: there is no group without one, and every group wants a Cleric from the start of the game to the end. Yet the class is not only about healing, because it has few healing skills; he reckons a Cleric uses more damage skills than heals in any boss fight. Most groups care little about a Cleric's damage, he says, as long as it has the heals, buffs and skill specialties they need, uses them at the right time and handles the mechanics.

Healing and support

CrusherXGaming calls the Cleric the one class a dungeon group genuinely cannot replace, because it is the class that resurrects people. It cycles Healing Light and Radiant Recovery for direct heals, a regeneration blessing for healing over time, and Light of Protection when the whole party is about to take a big hit. It also has a battle-priest side: Earth Retribution, its attack chain, restores the Cleric's own mana, and Judgment Thunder is a wind-element area attack, so a Cleric weaves damage between heals while dodging. He gives it the highest responsibility on the roster, and the fastest queue times.

OmniPower's heals cover the whole party. Light of Regeneration heals him and his party over 30 seconds; Radiant Recovery is a large area heal that, at a higher level, also removes two debuffs from everyone; and Healing Light heals the Cleric and the party member with the lowest health three times in a row before going on cooldown. Light of Protection, the Cleric's only toggle, raises damage and damage tolerance for the party, and another skill grants the party damage tolerance just before a big area attack.

EPIC PLK, who played the Cleric on the Taiwanese and Korean servers, found that Healing Light makes the class feel comfortable quickly: take damage, press it, and the problem goes away, with no need to think about potions. The damage was better than he had feared, too. Where healer leveling in older MMORPGs can be a slow exchange of blows, the Cleric has enough area damage to pull groups of monsters, clear them, heal itself and move on; it is not the fastest class, but it is no punishment either.

Resurrection

Society Of Gaming says the Cleric is the only class in Aion 2 with a resurrection skill. OmniPower keeps it off his macro as a situational skill that revives a downed ally within 40 meters, and Grobs points out that, with people dying left and right in dungeons, being able to bring someone back is extremely valuable. EPIC PLK adds that resurrection matters because a Cleric is not only about preventing mistakes: sometimes it recovers a run after the mistake has happened.

Damage

The Cleric's damage is real but modest. On NC's livestream the presenters note that a Cleric does a little more healing but less damage, while stressing that every class needs to deal damage for boss and dungeon mechanics, and that in a one-on-one boss encounter a Cleric can heal itself where a squishy class dies to one missed mechanic. Society Of Gaming's comparison with the Chanter puts the Cleric's damage well below the Chanter's.

OmniPower's damage setup opens with Earth Punishment, an attack that deals damage over time, then Chain of Torment, which lowers the enemy's damage tolerance, Condemnation, which can only follow it, and Judgment Thunder, the spammable area attack. He also summons a Noble Aura that follows him dealing damage and a Divine Aura that works like a turret, uses Voice of Doom to cut an enemy's incoming healing and potion recovery, and fires Bolt as a large area nuke.

Dungeons and raids

The Cleric's value grows with difficulty. Grobs says it becomes much more obvious in harder dungeons and late-game raids, and that playing without a Cleric is not always impossible but can make content much harder. The real skill, in his view, lies in knowing when damage is coming and choosing the right tool: a smaller heal, a cleanse, or a major defensive cooldown to stop the whole group dying.

Society Of Gaming considers the Cleric and the Chanter both mandatory in top-end content, the Cleric for its healing and resurrection and the Chanter for its mantras, while in early and mid end-game content either class can support a group alone if the content is not too demanding. Looking at ten-player Sanctuary party listings in another video, he calls a Cleric mandatory. Since Jul 1, 2026 in Korea, and from launch on the global servers, Expedition parties have five players and Sanctuary raids ten (see Expedition Dungeons and Sanctuary Raids). EPIC PLK warns of the healer's curse: when a run goes well everyone played well, and when it goes badly someone blames the healer.

Cleric and Chanter

Society Of Gaming's comparison gives healing to the Cleric, with stronger area heals, better shields, better cleansing and more consistent healing, and calls the Chanter a solid off-healer. The Chanter wins on party buffs, utility and personal damage, and survivability is close, the Cleric perhaps a little tankier. The two overlap on buffs: OmniPower notes that Light of Protection does not stack with the Chanter's Undefeated Mantra, and SywoGG warns Clerics not to use their best buff while the Chanter is using theirs. EPIC PLK sums up the choice: the Chanter suits players who want an aggressive hybrid support, the Cleric those who want to be the main healer (see Chanter).

NC's community broadcaster Stella weighed the same choice on NC's stream of Sep 18, 2026, playing a Chanter in the Launch Scale Test. Asked whether to main a Cleric or a Chanter, she said she liked the Cleric's ability to resurrect but found the Chanter fun to play; a Chanter can still heal, "just not as well", and with a Cleric in the party she felt a group should be fine.

PvP

In duels, Grobs says, the Cleric's bigger problem is not its damage but its lack of reliable crowd control: it can keep itself alive for a long time but has few ways to stop an opponent staying on top of it and recovering through lifesteal, so it loses many one-on-ones. Group PvP is a different story, and there a good Cleric can do an enormous amount of work and change the outcome of a fight.

EPIC PLK, reserving judgment until he has played more, finds that the Cleric's healing, cleanses, shields and sustain can make it and its party very annoying to kill, though crowd control, ranged pressure and gap closers can still ruin its day. He calls it "irritating in the right hands", which for this kind of class he means as a compliment. Society Of Gaming gives the Chanter the edge in solo PvP but wants a Cleric in any group fight, and SywoGG calls the Cleric a must-have in PvP (see PvP).

Changes

In Korea and Taiwan the Cleric has changed with NC's class overhaul of Mar 25, 2026 and with later balance patches. The overhaul gave it a new Stigma skill, Reincarnating Touch, whose effect none of the sources used here describes, raised the Stigma slot limit to five and added Perfect Parry and Perfect Shield Block. In his comparison of Sep 9, 2026 Society Of Gaming said he believed the Cleric should get a buff, especially to its damage, and that he thought one was coming. The fan site aion2hub reports a Korean healing rework in August 2026 that gave Cleric and Chanter heals a 40-meter radius while cutting their output by 20 to 50%; this wiki has not been able to confirm that change against an NC release.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Cleric the only healer in Aion 2? It is the main healer. The Chanter can also heal a group through normal dungeons, but creators agree it cannot match the Cleric's healing in hard content.

Can the Cleric resurrect other players? Yes. OmniPower's resurrection revives a downed ally within 40 meters, and Society Of Gaming says the Cleric is the only class with such a skill.

Does a Cleric deal damage? Yes. NC highlights its improved damage, and creators say a Cleric uses damage skills for much of a fight, though its damage is well below a Chanter's.

What weapon does the Cleric use? A mace and shield.

Is the Cleric good for beginners? SywoGG says players who have healed in other MMORPGs will have no trouble, and Society Of Gaming rates its difficulty as medium, with high responsibility.

Is the Cleric good in PvP? In group fights it is invaluable. In duels its lack of reliable crowd control makes many one-on-ones hard to win.

Can I play a Cleric on the global version? Yes. It is one of the eight global classes, playable since Advanced Access opened on Sep 30, 2026 and free to everyone from Oct 5.
