Dying Dramata's Nest

Dying Dramata's Nest, the four-star Expedition that opened Season 2 of Aion 2 in Korea and Taiwan on Jan 21, 2026: modes and gear checks, the swim and glide route, its three bosses and their mechanics, and rewards.

Dying Dramata's Nest is an Expedition dungeon in Aion 2, added to the Korean and Taiwanese service on Jan 21, 2026 as the first new dungeon of Season 2. A party dives into a flooded cave, swims and glides past three bosses, and ends in an arena ringed with eggs, facing a poison-spitting beast that floods the floor with a toxic swamp. NC files it under Tier 4 Expedition content; players call it a four-star dungeon. Everything on this page describes the Korean and Taiwanese version: NC has said the global version, which launched on Oct 5, 2026, will run "close to a year behind" Korea in content (Hardcore Gamer). The other kinds of instance are described on Dungeons.

Release in Season 2

NC's Season 2 roadmap of Jan 7, 2026 put Dying Dramata's Nest first on the calendar. The new Expedition would open on Jan 21 together with the raids Fallen Orcus's Heart and Farfnite Forge and the Ascension Trials Depository of Fates and Tyrant's Hideout, and a second Expedition, Cradle of Nihility, would follow on Jan 28 (NC). Xela's summary of the roadmap lists it the same way, as the first of Season 2's new four-star Expeditions. The fan site Aion2 Hub's translation of the Jan 21 patch notes lists it with Exploration and Conquest (Normal) modes and says it drops Unstable Stigma Shards along with wings and paintings (Aion2 Hub).

Two later updates changed how it pays out. On May 13, 2026 NC raised the weekly reward limit for Expedition content from 14 to 21 and enhanced the Kina rewards of Tier 4 Expeditions, naming Dying Dramata's Nest, and of Tier 5 Expeditions such as Hall of Illusion (NC). With Chapter 1 on Jul 1, 2026, Expedition parties grew from four players to five, entry tickets were removed so that rewards are claimed with Odyle Energy instead, and pets could be ridden inside dungeons (NC).

Modes and gear

Madsin's guide, published five days after release, covers Normal and Hard together because the mechanical differences are few and appear only at the final boss. He finds Normal lenient: a group of players around 3,000 combat power with moderate pets and no PvE gear can clear it. Hard has a very high damage requirement and wants a proper party composition, good pets and PvE damage-bonus accessories, weapons and guards. BoredAF's Conquest guide of the same day recommends 300 to 400 gear score above the entry requirement and says that, when he uploaded it, Hard added no extra mechanics and was essentially a gear check.

NC's roadmap scheduled Hard difficulty for Dying Dramata's Nest and Cradle of Nihility on Feb 18, 2026, and Xela's summary repeats that date for the Hard versions of the two four-star dungeons. NC's English releases do not explain how that scheduled Hard mode relates to the Hard runs creators were already filming in late January.

The route: swimming and gliding

The run begins with a long jump down into a pool of water and a swim through an underwater cave. White orbs in the water give a burst of movement speed and yellow ones refill the air gauge. Out of the water, Madsin advises hugging the left wall to avoid monsters on the way to the first boss, and warns of an egg against that wall that hatches and attacks anyone who gets too close. A Kisk, a resurrection point that has to be activated, stands near each boss; Games On recommends using the first one so that a death does not cost Resurrection Spiritstones.

Between the second and third bosses the camera switches to a fixed overhead view for what Games On calls a mini arcade game: a corridor of poison patches that players cross by gliding on their wings or by running along the walls. Madsin adds that barriers along the way have to be broken. A second underwater swim follows, through a cave where vents push swimmers sideways and deal heavy toxic damage (Games On took almost 6,000 from one), and running out of air slowly drains health. At the far end players activate a keystone and glide down into the final arena.

First boss: Broodkeeper Nayatman

BoredAF sums up the first boss as three threats. Small orbs drift after party members and explode shortly after touching one. Spears land with an area attack that then sends out two further rings of damage, which players either outrun or dodge-roll through into the center after the first blast. And a link joins two party members. Madsin adds that the boss teleports to a tank who strays too far and hits everyone near it, and that its line attack on the tank leaves lightning puddles lasting 30 to 35 seconds, so tanks should aim them at the edge of the room.

The link is the fight's key mechanic. The boss binds two random players together; they must first run apart to break the tether, which deals rapidly ticking damage while it holds, and then come back together before a timer runs out, or both take very heavy damage and are stunned. Games On describes the second step as colliding the red and blue spheres the two players now carry. Tanking with about 38,000 health, he found the arena small and the boss's damage brutal for a group of his party's modest gear score.

Second boss: Manager Nasium

The second boss throws a spear that leaves a damaging patch on the ground and casts an expanding ring that pulses outward three times, which Madsin says is best waited out rather than outrun. Its main mechanic is announced by the line "My blade will cut you clean through": spinning chakrams fly at every player, and each must hide at once behind one of the two stone pillars so that the blade breaks against it. Below 30 per cent the boss throws the chakrams twice in a row, and below 75 per cent it periodically surrounds itself with a ring of blades that drains the health of anyone inside. Games On found the blades can also be kited until they expire after roughly 15 to 25 seconds, but warns that a whole party kiting them tends to kill itself.

Final boss: Decaying Durvati

The final arena holds eight climbable rocks, four with two steps and four with three. At about 65 per cent the boss, whose name Madsin's captions render as Devati, casts a deadly poison swamp that floods the whole floor, and the only safe places are on top of the rocks. Any rock the boss hits with a melee attack is destroyed. On Hard every party member is also given a poison cloud that quickly kills anyone else standing in it, so each player needs a rock of their own; on Normal players may share. At 25 per cent the swamp returns, and on Hard it becomes a surging version that forces players onto the tallest, three-step rocks and destroys every rock afterwards.

BoredAF's rule of thumb is to stay out of the boss's front, where most of its grabs and cone attacks land, and to jump the shock wave from its ground slam, which recurs through the fight. Its egg mechanic marks every player with a red circle: players run to the nearest eggs so that the poison lands on them, smaller eggs first, and then hurry back, because a roar fears anyone who is not close to the boss when it ends.

Madsin counts four big eggs and twenty small ones. The circles come after the voice line "Face my poison rain", four in all, and each leaves a puddle: one puddle breaks a small egg, three break a big one. The aim is to destroy every small egg before the boss hatches the rest at about 30 per cent, because the brutes from big eggs merely chase the party while the larvae from small eggs spread out and smash the rocks everyone needs for the swamp. Puddles dropped on a rock stay there until the next swamp, so they belong on open floor.

In BoredAF's Conquest run the boss becomes untargetable at around 60 per cent and starts a dialogue, the cue to run to a pillar and jump up before the poison wipes the floor; the same move repeats for the rest of the fight. At about 30 per cent it roars and hatches the remaining eggs, and the smaller of the two creatures must die first, before they destroy the pillars.

Games On's own attempt shows how the phase goes wrong. Two small eggs survived, the boss called "Awaken my children", and the larvae went straight for a platform and broke one before they could be stopped. The group still had platforms enough but lacked the damage to finish in time, and the boss enraged. Enraged, its attacks hit much harder, and a green circle attack that is survivable earlier becomes a one-shot that has to be dodged.

Between these phases the boss fills time with a set of smaller attacks that Madsin lists: a dash out and back, a claw swipe followed by a breath attack that knocks players down, a lingering poison beam that sweeps left or right, three heavy slams that also drop fast area attacks on the two furthest players, a tail slam, and a grab that smashes the tank into the ground and leaves a healing-reduction debuff on anyone caught nearby.

Rewards and weekly limits

According to the fan translation of the Jan 21 notes, the dungeon drops Unstable Stigma Shards as well as wings and paintings; Stigma skills themselves are covered on Skills, Stigmas and Macros. Its rewards count against the shared weekly Expedition limit, which NC raised from 14 to 21 on May 13, 2026, when it also increased the dungeon's Kina rewards. Since Jul 1, 2026 no entry ticket is needed, and the rewards are claimed with Odyle Energy instead (NC). Gear progression in general is covered on Gear Progression.

Frequently asked questions

When was Dying Dramata's Nest released? On Jan 21, 2026, with the Season 2 update in Korea and Taiwan. NC had announced the date in its Season 2 roadmap two weeks earlier.

How much gear do you need for Dying Dramata's Nest? Madsin found Normal clearable at around 3,000 combat power with moderate pets and no PvE gear. Hard needs far more damage, PvE damage-bonus gear and a balanced party.

How do you survive the poison swamp on the final boss? Stand on one of the arena's climbable rocks when the boss casts it, at about 65 and 25 per cent. On Hard each player needs a separate rock, and the second cast requires the tallest rocks.

Why break the small eggs first? The larvae that hatch from them destroy the rocks the party needs to escape the poison swamp. The brutes from the big eggs only chase players and can largely be ignored.

How do you beat the second boss's chakrams? When the boss says its blade line, hide behind one of the two pillars so that the chakram breaks on it. Below 30 per cent it throws them twice, so stay near the pillar after the first set.

Is Dying Dramata's Nest in the global version? NC has not announced it for the global launch on Oct 5, 2026. It arrived in Korea with Season 2, and NC expects the global service to run close to a year behind Korea in content.
