Corroded Decontamination Facility

Corroded Decontamination Facility, the Sanctuary raid Aion 2 added in Korea and Taiwan on Mar 11, 2026: a ruined Balaur base, bosses Devouring Klawfly, Black Blood Blatt and Terminator Bargott, the 3,700 entry requirement, mechanics and loot.

Corroded Decontamination Facility is a Sanctuary raid in Aion 2, released on the Korean and Taiwanese service on Mar 11, 2026 as the Sanctuary of Season 2. NC set it in a ruined Balaur base contaminated by experimental waste and abandoned test subjects, and called it the most challenging PvE dungeon then available. Three bosses stand in the way, the last of them Terminator Bargott, and clearing it can give Hero- and Unique-grade weapons and bracelets (NC). Creators number it Sanctuary 2, after the launch raid Ludra. It is Korean and Taiwanese content: NC's global team said the global version would open with Ludra, and on Oct 5, 2026 NC took even Ludra out of the launch build to rework it (Sanctuary Raids).

Release

NC's Season 2 roadmap of Jan 7, 2026 listed the new Sanctuary for Feb 25, "expanding high-end PvE challenges" (NC). Xela's summary of the roadmap describes it as the newest eight-player raid and says it would be harder than Ludra, the Sanctuary players had been fighting since launch.

The raid arrived two weeks later than planned, on Mar 11, 2026. The same update let Elyos and Asmodians form PvE parties together for the first time, began a fourth round of server matching for the Abyss, and ran a White Day event; NC also announced a Combat Power display, a DPS measuring tool and the split between regular and bound Kina as coming features (NC; Updates and Seasons). The fan site Aion2 Hub's summaries of later Korean patches record fixes to the raid's bosses on Jul 8 and Aug 5, 2026 (Aion2 Hub).

Preparing: party and gear

Madsin's advice before the first boss starts with the party. As in the first Sanctuary, the only way to bring a player back is the Cleric's summoning resurrection, so each of the two groups needs one, and he strongly recommends a Templar or Chanter in both groups because their mitigation keeps ordinary area attacks from one-shotting people. On gear, a force at 3,700 can technically clear the two mini bosses before Bargott, but he suggests 3,800 to 3,900 as a sensible minimum, with proper pets, Genus Insight and soul binds, crafted accessories, weapons and guards, and dungeon armor. The first two bosses have no enrage timer, so mechanics always come before damage.

First boss: Devouring Klawfly

At 75 per cent the first boss locks its stagger bar and unleashes a raid-wide attack that drops seven large ground attacks near the edge of the room, each able to one-shot anyone but a tank, so the force runs to the always-safe center. The blasts leave piles of debris, six in pairs and one alone. Four players are marked with the numbers one to four, and the boss leaps to each in turn, smashing any debris its landing touches. It then returns to the center and casts a poison attack that kills everyone not hiding behind a remaining pile, and every pile left over turns into a permanent poison puddle. The solution is to have the marked players break every pile except the lone one, and for everyone to hide behind that. The mechanic returns at 30 per cent with the first puddle still on the floor.

The 50 per cent mechanic is a test of order. The boss teleports to the center while heavy attacks rain down, and eight orbs appear around it and drift towards the edge; any orb that reaches the edge, after about 15 seconds, explodes and wipes the force. Walking into a purple orb absorbs it but blocks that player from taking another for seven seconds, and whenever an orb is taken the others flash red for a second, when touching one causes a blast that only a full-health, well-mitigated force survives. Madsin's answer is to number the force one to eight, count the red flashes and take the orbs in turn; with good communication it can be done with as few as five players.

Around these, the boss drops spider webs that slow anyone who steps in them, summons adds after 30 per cent that leave more webs where they die, cleaves the tank, drops five small area attacks in succession on every player, tethers the whole force and drags it towards a deadly puddle at the edge of the room, and burrows after a random player leaving a trail of poison.

Second boss: Black Blood Blatt

BoredAF's guide to the raid gives the second boss, which it calls Black Blood Blatt, its own chapter between Devouring Klawfly and Terminator Bargott. No English guide with captions to this fight was found for this page, so its mechanics are not described here.

Final boss: Terminator Bargott

Terminator Bargott's signature mechanic comes at 75 and 25 per cent. The boss locks its stagger bar and leaps to the middle of the room, knocking down anyone it lands on; orange bombs appear round the arena, and every force member is marked with a number from one to eight. About eight seconds into its cast the boss starts rolling towards each numbered player in turn, and any bomb it rolls over disappears. After the eighth roll every bomb still standing explodes and kills the whole force, so the players must stand where the rolls will sweep up every bomb. At 75 per cent the bombs always form the same diamond; at 25 per cent they come in one of three layouts, but Madsin describes a single spread that covers all of them and advises practicing it from the first time.

At 50 per cent Bargott jumps to a platform at the south of the arena and pulls every player to the ledge beside it. Twelve bombs appear in a fixed pattern, the lanes between the floor's rectangles fill with poison, random area attacks knock players down, and slow projectiles sweep the room leaving a stacking burn. The boss's health bar becomes eight ticks. Players pick up bombs, much as with the bomb boxes in Ferocious Horn Den, and throw them at Bargott on the ledge, one tick each, and have about 30 seconds to land all eight before it fires a projectile that kills everyone. Madsin advises leaving both Clerics in the middle of the room to heal while the rest of the force carries bombs.

Some filler mechanics come as a bundle. The boss jumps to the middle with a burning ring, every player drops three area attacks that leave poison puddles, and Bargott rolls back, hooks the furthest player and slams the ground three times in a triangle, each slam a stack marker worth about 100,000 damage before mitigation, split among those inside. Missing a stack costs a large chunk of health. Afterwards three players gain a red tornado aura that lets them walk into the poison puddles and burst them, carefully, since each burst hurts; any puddle left behind explodes over a wide area the next time the bundle comes round.

Next the boss sets off a flash bomb that blinds anyone looking at it, leaving only a small circle of screen around the character. The boss drops everyone's target as it readies the flash, which lets players turn their backs in time, and warns with a voice line. The first flash is always followed by a bullet-hell pattern of swirling orbs; later flashes lead into one of four attacks, including the same orbs, a sweeping beam and a donut. The first mine sweep always comes straight after that first flash sequence: six players are wrapped in spinning chains and must run into bombs scattered round the arena to defuse them before a timer runs out; one surviving bomb is bearable but two wipe the force, and a chained player who touches another knocks them back, sometimes off the arena.

Between the big mechanics Bargott rolls at players who see its claw side facing them, shoots arcs of fireballs, releases orbs that roam the arena for about 40 seconds and suck in anyone nearby, chases ranged players and healers with claw swipes and a hook, sweeps a beam through 180 degrees, and triggers a hydraulic press over a rectangle of floor every five seconds.

When Sanctuaries grew to ten players with Chapter 1 on Jul 1, 2026, the raid was still being run. ShinEVO's clip from July shows Terminator Bargott with a ten-player raid from a Templar's point of view (NC; Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow).

Loot

NC's release lists Hero- and Unique-grade items, including weapons and bracelets, as the rewards for clearing the raid. Bracelets are the Sanctuaries' speciality: in his overview of Sanctuary content Anders says the raids are the only way to get higher-rarity bracelets. Gear in general is covered on Gear Progression.

Frequently asked questions

When was Corroded Decontamination Facility released? On Mar 11, 2026 in Korea and Taiwan, two weeks after the Feb 25 date in NC's Season 2 roadmap.

What gear do you need for Corroded Decontamination Facility? NC set the entry requirement at 3,700. Madsin recommends 3,800 to 3,900 with crafted accessories and weapons, good pets and soul binds.

What party does the raid need? A Cleric in each group, because the Cleric's summoning resurrection is the only way to revive players, and ideally a Templar or Chanter in each group for mitigation.

How do you beat Terminator Bargott's bombs? At 75 and 25 per cent, spread so that the boss's eight rolls pass over every bomb. At 50 per cent, carry the twelve bombs to the ledge and hit Bargott eight times within about 30 seconds.

What does Corroded Decontamination Facility drop? Hero- and Unique-grade items, including weapons and bracelets.

Is Corroded Decontamination Facility in the global version? NC has not announced it. The global version's first Sanctuary is Ludra, which NC removed from the launch build on Oct 5, 2026 and brings back with new mechanics on Nov 4.
