Daevanion Boards

The Daevanion boards of Aion 2: node boards named after Empyrean Lords on which Daevanion crystals buy stats and skill levels, the orange, blue and green nodes and what they cost, where the crystals come from, the PvE and PvP boards, and the boards added later in Korea.

The Daevanion boards are the node boards of Aion 2 on which players spend Daevanion crystals to raise their character's stats and the levels of their skills. Each board is named after one of the Empyrean Lords of Aion's lore. Society Of Gaming, opening the board screen in July 2026 after clearing a Sealed Dungeon, shows the four boards used while leveling, Nezakan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel, and names the later ones, Ariel, Azphel, Marchutan and Yustiel, as "full endgame". Creators spell the names in many ways, and some translations call the system Daevanion points, Daeva essence or the Deviant board. Along with skill points and Arcana, the boards are how skills pass level 10; see Skills, Stigmas and Macros.

Quick facts

How a board works

Each board is a web of nodes. RedCloud's beginner guide of November 2025 explains the colors: green nodes level passive skills, blue nodes level active skills, and orange nodes are the board's core bonuses. Each starting board has its own core effects: combat speed and cooldown reduction on Nezakan, damage boost and damage tolerance on Zikel, critical damage and its tolerance on Vaizel, and multi-hit chance and resistance on Triniel. A core bonus only applies once the path reaches its orange node.

BoredAF's guide from the same week counts six boards that open from level 12 and adds a fourth color: gray nodes give basic stats such as health, mana, attack and defense. The aim, he says, is the most efficient path to the orange node of one's choice while picking up green and blue nodes on the way, coming back for skipped nodes later. The last two boards, Ariel for PvE and Azphel for PvP, are endgame boards that need their own essence, earned only after level 45.

The blue and green nodes are what make the boards matter for skills. Grobs's beginner guide explains that skill points only raise a skill to level 10; a Sorcerer who wants Firestorm at level 12, where a second effect socket opens, has to take two of its blue nodes on the boards. Every other node adds stats such as critical hit resistance, defense or HP. Fan translations of the Korean notes record that from Dec 9, 2025 hovering over a skill node shows the skill's tooltip.

Costs and priorities

Nodes cost different amounts. RedCloud gives three Daevanion crystals for a blue active-skill node, two for a green passive and four for an orange core node, and advises starting to spend around levels 12 to 15 and taking as many blue nodes as possible while leveling, because active skill levels directly raise damage, healing and survivability. Of the core nodes he thinks Zikel's is clearly worth the walk and Nezakan's is not.

The reason is the skill breakpoints. A skill that reaches level 8 gains a specialty rune "which fundamentally changes a skill", and players aim for at least level 12 on their main active skills before endgame content, because level 12 opens more rune slots.

Class guides settle on a similar order. Sen's Gladiator guide of July 2026 notes that Daevanion points also raise combat power, and takes the offensive orange nodes first (combat speed, attack bonus and cooldown reduction), then the blue nodes of the class's key skills, then green passives, leaving MP and defense nodes for later. xMontu's Gladiator guide of August 2026 reduces it to a rule: orange before blue, blue before green, green before white, offense first.

The priorities matter less over time. Grobs, reviewing the Korean version after 250 hours in December 2025, criticizes the boards for adding little build variety: the tree is huge and has several pages, "but in the end you will have so many points that you will just literally have every single note in this tree". Grobs's leveling guide puts the eventual total at almost 400 points.

Mistakes are cheap. BoredAF points out that nodes can be refunded and the essence spent again, and estimates about 300 points by level 45 for a player who clears Sealed Dungeons and side quests along the way.

Where Daevanion crystals come from

The main source while leveling is the solo Sealed Dungeon, marked on the map with a question mark. Society Of Gaming lists the rewards of one: enhancement stones, a statue for the Pantheon system, a sealed wing feather for Substance Morph and some Kina, but "main reward is this one", the Daevanion crystal. Each Sealed Dungeon is cleared once per character; see Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds.

RedCloud adds regional quests from the journal, which gave him three crystals each, against two for the early Sealed Dungeons he shows, with harder dungeons giving more. Leveling guides therefore advise doing side quests and Sealed Dungeons along the way instead of rushing the main story.

CrusherXGaming's pre-launch guide of September 2026 warns that "the naming is inconsistent across translations", and gives the same sources, side story quests, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds, whose experience is mediocre but whose board points are "one of the biggest strength sources you have while leveling".

The PvP board uses a different currency. In the Abyss players pick up feathers by flying around and resonate with a Monolith for Azphel crystals, which can only be spent on the PvP board. The PvE board likewise needs its own Ariel crystals, from high-end PvE content.

Smaller amounts come from events and from the Shugo mini-games, and some can be bought with the currencies those activities pay, but Society Of Gaming stresses that Sealed Dungeons stay the main source at the start of the endgame. After level 45, players can also clear the Sealed Dungeons on the opposing faction's map by passing through a rift.

Boards added later

The fan site aion2hub, which translates the Korean patch notes, lists the Marchutan Daevanion in the update of Feb 25, 2026 and the Yustiel Daevanion in the update of Apr 8, 2026. NC's English releases do not describe either board.

Ashura Whole Heavens, showing a developed Templar in September 2026, has two boards maxed, which fills the background with a new effect, and draws much of his weapon damage and weapon damage tolerance from Marchutan, while working through Yustiel for attack, perfect chance and perfect resistance. His advice for the global version is to path first toward the nodes of the class's main damage skills.

How the boards fit with gear, Arcana and other power systems is covered on Gear Progression and Classes.

On the global client

The boards are part of the story on the global client. On NC's stream of the Launch Scale Test on Sep 18, 2026, a cutscene in the English dub has Aion's voice address broadcaster Stella's character as the "successor of Aion's will" and promise, "I shall open the path of the Daevanion to you", before she carries on through the tutorial.

TheLazyPeon, opening the board for the first time in the same test, describes an attribute-style talent tree with notable nodes, some of which give skill level ups. He notes that nodes can be respecced for Kina, that there are separate boards, and that some nodes give PvP attributes.

Kevin Link of S4G, who reached level 30 in the same test, liked the boards as a system for long-term progression. He counted five boards in total, two of which, Triniel and Azphel, were still locked because he had not progressed far enough through the quests and levels.

Anders, writing up the first day of the test, found the old Daevanion board of the Korean launch on the global client, with the Ariel board completely missing, and suspects that the global version is holding it back for a later update. That would fit S4G's count of five: the four starting boards and Azphel.

Kentaro reads the missing Ariel board as one of the biggest global changes: a PvE-only board of flat PvE damage and boss attack bonuses whose resources could be obtained through the economy, and which in the test appeared to be completely removed. He counts it among the ways NC is limiting how directly players can buy power.

Which boards the Global Release has in full is still not set out by NC: its global notices through Sep 30, 2026, when the global client went live with Advanced Access, do not list them, and they do not say whether the Ariel board or Korea's later Marchutan and Yustiel boards will follow. Before launch Sen expected the four starting boards and the PvE and PvP boards, and was unsure about the other two, which he calls new content.

The Ariel board came to the global version with the patch of Oct 20, 2026 (PDT), along with Hard mode for Krao Cave and Draupnir. Its points come from Ariel Fragments won in those Hard Expeditions: Substance Morph (under Special > Daevanion) turns 100 fragments into a Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), up to 30 times per character, with a separate limit for each dungeon, and a fragment can instead be morphed into 5 Enhance Stones without limit (NC on Steam) (Expeditions).

Frequently asked questions

What are Daevanion crystals used for? For buying nodes on the Daevanion boards. Each node adds stats, raises the level of an active or passive skill, or, for orange core nodes, grants a board-wide bonus.

Which nodes should you take first? Creators recommend blue nodes for the class's main active skills and a path to a useful orange core node, then green passives, leaving basic defensive stats for later.

Can you reset Daevanion nodes? Yes. Nodes can be refunded and the crystals spent again; on the global client TheLazyPeon found that a respec costs Kina.

Where do you get Daevanion crystals? Mainly from Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds and regional quests, plus smaller amounts from events and mini-games. Azphel crystals for the PvP board come from the Abyss.

Why can't you put crystals into the Ariel or Azphel boards? Those endgame boards use their own crystals, earned in high-end PvE (Ariel) or in the Abyss (Azphel), not the ordinary Daevanion crystals from leveling.

Does the global version have the Ariel board? Yes, since the patch of Oct 20, 2026 (PDT). Its crystals are morphed from Ariel Fragments, which drop in Hard Krao Cave and Draupnir, up to 30 crystals per character.

Will the global version have the Marchutan and Yustiel boards? NC had not said as of Sep 30, 2026, when the global client went live. The boards arrived in Korea and Taiwan during 2026, and testers of the global client in September 2026 found only the boards of the Korean launch, without even Ariel.

Are the Daevanion boards on the global version? Yes. Testers used them in the September 2026 Launch Scale Test, where S4G counted five boards at level 30, two still locked.
