Battlefield
Battlefield in Aion 2: the 10-against-10 objective mode with equalized gear and skills, how queues, schedules and weekly rewards work on the Korean servers, Battlefield: Siege from Chapter 1, and what the global launch brings.
Battlefield is the team PvP mode of Aion 2 in which two sides of ten fight over objectives, and on the global version it is the one mode where every player's gear and skills are equalized. NC's global team presented it as "cool news" in its preview stream of August 2026: "for the global launch, we're going to have battlegrounds", a 10v10 mode in which skill levels and stats are the same for everybody. NC first listed Battlefield among the game's four PvP modes in August 2025, alongside Arena, Rift and Abyss (NC), while NC's English streams call it battlegrounds. The ranked, unequalized alternative is the Arena; all the modes are compared on PvP.

How a match works
NC's PvP stream of September 2026 set Battlefield against the arena. In the 5v5 arena everyone brings their own gear and skill levels, "not equalized or matched in any way"; battlegrounds are a 10v10 mode "where things are equalized", so the result depends on how players use their class and coordinate with their party. There are objectives rather than a plain team deathmatch, and the hosts gave pushing a payload or capturing a flag as examples; in August they said the objectives would rotate.
Anders, who played it in Korea, calls Battlefield the only equalized mode, the "one PvP mode where your item level doesn't decide the fight", and says it appears in the battlefield window under the name Arena of Tactics. He describes it as a conquest or capture-the-flag type of match on a single map, with more maps promised. Players can queue alone or with a party, but a party is matched only against other full parties of five.
Grobs, comparing Aion 2 with Throne and Liberty in August 2026, confirms that gear is equalized in the 10v10 battlegrounds and that only consumables still make a difference. Having played a lot of matches, he finds them made for casual players to drop in and have fun rather than for serious competition.
Schedule and rewards
On the Korean servers Battlefield is open only at set times each day, so Anders advises checking the schedule before planning around it. Every match pays Abyss Points and materials, with more for a win, up to a weekly limit of three victory rewards and three participation rewards that resets every Wednesday.
MR4KTV's guide of September 2026 gives the same limits from the Taiwanese servers and adds that they apply per character. He treats the three wins a week as a chore worth doing, because the Abyss Points buy gear, skins and wings, and he expects most players to choose Battlefield over the arena, since it takes little time and does not put under-geared players at a disadvantage.
aselon_eu's Kina guide points to a less obvious reward: winning pays fragments used to craft tiles for the PvP Daevanion Boards, and those tiles can be sold on the market. Because the mode needs no gear, he suggests running it on alternate characters too. Fextralife's translation of the Korean notes of Nov 21, 2025 records the Abyss Point reward for a Battlefield victory being raised to 1,000.
How Battlefield changed in Korea
The mode has not always looked like this. In his review of December 2025, a month after the Korea and Taiwan Launch, Grobs described battlegrounds, like arenas, as "always a gear check first", and complained that teams were not balanced by class, so one side might have three tanks and the other none, or a premade group against strangers. Society Of Gaming's endgame guide of May 2026 still described an eight-against-eight battlefield, from the time when parties were four players; party sizes in Korea rose to five with Chapter 1 on Jul 1, 2026 (NC). By September 2026 Anders and Grobs both described a 10v10 mode with equalized gear.
Some problems remain in Anders's experience. Spawn camping has been addressed, but most matches are one-sided, and players on a losing team tend to leave, which ends any chance of a comeback. The fan site aion2hub reports that the Korean update of Aug 12, 2026 made Arena and Battlefield matching race-integrated and restricted queues to solo players or groups of five.
Battlefield: Siege
Chapter 1: Lands of Sand and Snow added a second format on Jul 1, 2026. NC describes Battlefield: Siege as "a mode where players capture a total of three zones to earn points, with all teams starting under identical conditions" (NC), and ExitLag Tips' explainer contrasts it with the Abyss: teams compete for zones to pile up points. Neither source says whether it will be part of the global launch.
Battlefield on the global version
NC announced stat-normalized 10v10 battlegrounds for the Global Release at its community livestream of Aug 7, 2026, one of several global changes listed by GamesBeat alongside larger dungeon parties and a bigger first raid (GamesBeat). NC's September stream repeated it in its recap, "battlegrounds will be equalized gear and skills", and said all PvP modes, Battlefield included, unlock at level 45. Battlefield was disabled in the Launch Scale Test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026, whose level cap of 37 would have kept players out anyway.
It opened with the rest of the game in Advanced Access on Sep 30, 2026: NC's early access release names battlegrounds and dimensional rifts as the PvP modes available, and progress made in early access is kept (Inven Global). NC had not published the global schedule or weekly reward limits as of Sep 30, 2026, and Battlefield: Siege was not among the modes it named.
Equalization matters most for players who do not pay. CrusherXGaming's breakdown of the global business model notes that NC has confirmed the 10v10 battleground equalizes everyone's stats, whereas in the Abyss, the rifts and the faction war "your full gear counts", which gives players who bought materials on the market early a stat edge (Business Model).
Frequently asked questions
Is gear equalized in Aion 2's Battlefield? Yes. Gear and skill levels are equalized in the 10v10 mode, so item level does not decide the fight. Grobs notes that consumables still make a difference.
How many players are in a Battlefield match? Ten on each side. Society Of Gaming described an eight-against-eight battlefield in Korea in May 2026, before party sizes rose from four to five.
Can you queue for Battlefield with friends? Yes, but on the Korean servers a party is matched only against other full parties of five, so smaller groups queue separately.
When can you play Battlefield? From level 45, and on the Korean servers only at set times each day. On the global servers it has been available since Advanced Access began on Sep 30, 2026; NC had not published a global schedule as of that day.
What do you get from Battlefield? Abyss Points and materials, with more for a win, up to three victory and three participation rewards a week. Wins also pay fragments for PvP Daevanion board tiles.
What is Battlefield: Siege? A Korean and Taiwanese format from Jul 1, 2026 in which teams start on identical terms and score points by capturing three zones.
Was Battlefield in the Launch Scale Test? No. It was disabled for the test of Sep 17 and 18, 2026.
Is Battlefield: Siege on the global servers? NC has not said so. Its early access release names only battlegrounds and dimensional rifts among the PvP modes.
